Avon make up and skincare

I was fortunate to receive some free make and skincare from Avon, I haven't used their products before but thought I would give them a try and boy, am I glad I did:D

First I tried Anew Age transforming pressed powder, I like a powder base but struggle to find one that gives good coverage and keeps the oil under control without settling in lines, well, I found one:TI am a huge EL Doublewear fan but their powder gives me under the skin spots, I recently tried Doublewear light which I really did like but not quite enough coverage for me then I tried the Avon powder this morning and its brilliant, I am so pleased great coverage and until removed it it looked the exactly the same as when I put it on this morning, I am amazed and at £10 I will certainly be buying this, I used the applicator from my doublewear powder as I didn't like the Avon one;) and I will give it a couple of weeks to see if it agrees with my skin.

The second product they sent me was Anew Clinical Thermafirm face lifting cream, I have just put some of this on and it feels a bit tingly but my skin is supersoft already, the packaging is as good as premium brands and the smell is good if a little strong. Time will tell if it actually lifts or even agrees with my skin but I'm going to give it a go, yay for Avon:D

Does anyone have experience of these products or any comments or suggestions about Avon in general?

I have used Avon for as long as I can remember and I'm now a rep.

Avon have a 90 day guarantee on their products, where you can return it if you don't like it, even if you have tried it! There are some exceptions which are clearly stated in the brochures.

You can also get certain samples from your rep too. :)

Hi, thought I would update after using the cream last night for the first time, my skin today is looking really nice I swear its made a difference even though it says you should see a change after 5 applications, I have the powder on again and I think it might even be better than doublewear, I cant believe I just said that:rotfl:I am so pleased:D

Hi tla19, I am also in Essex, we have a local rep who knocked on my door when we moved here a couple of years ago, I wasn't interested at the time and tbh she looked like she hadn't used a lot of Avon herself, I am trying to be polite here, but a great advert for the products she wasn't. I still see her around delivering so she must be doing something right, she told me this was her area for 20 years and I shouldn't order from anyone else - is this right? if all the products are as good as the ones I have especially the powder surly theres a lot of money to be made, what do you think? Are reps allocated a specific area? Does it have to be door to door? I am sorry to say this but Avon is considered the lower end of the market and it is assumed that the products will reflect that, however I am happy to be proved wrong but how would you get over this with possible customers? This sounds like I'm looking to be a rep which I'm not, I'm just interested cos I feel like I've stumbled on a beauty secret;)

:rotfl:isn't it just, I can look anyway I want to;), I would say the difference with the cream is the fact that I actually used a cream as I have trouble finding one that agrees with my skin rather than its a miracle worker, however the powder is outstandingly good and I would recommend it to anyone:D

Avon have a couple of products that I like and buy again when I run out (about every 6 months).

I have found it is cheaper usually to buy on line via Quidco, as then you get 10% off, and it is generally possible to find a free delivery code, or a free product code, on the Discount Codes & Vouchers board. If no free delivery code is available at the time, then it is very easy to spend the amount needed for free delivery (£20 as a rule?)

A lot of Avon products are very good. I personally have swapped my expensive Liz Earle for the cheap as chips avon botanical moisturiser and I am loving the magix pore perfecter

How do avon get this across? Word of mouth - and great reviews in the women's weeklies

If theres a cream or skin treatment out there, god knows I've tried it.

Having said that I really only like two Avon products, one is their clay mask (grey tube), and the other is their vitamin c eye cream (white pot with orange lid). They're the only two I've found to give me results.

  • OP in reply to your questions about Avon reps. We are allocated an area, but you do sometimes find other agents crossing areas. You can buy direct from Avon but if you want a foundation you could ask your local rep to get you some samples. I find their make up to be really good as good i would say as some more expensive brands. I especially like their footcare and nail care items (even better than Nails Inc and Leighton Denny). I must admit i don't use their bathing items of body lotions but then i have really sensitive skin.
