Now the garden season has started i am desperate to get my garden in order, however like most people on this board money isn't in vast supply, does anyone have any codes or know where i could get free plants for my garden.

It's also the time to split lots of perennials so have a word with your friends and neighbours and see if you can beg some pieces of theirs. Perennials will grow really tall in one season and then die right back in the winter so a few small pieces will fill a big space quickly. You will need to learn how to take cuttings from shrubs (mainly June/July) to give some structure in the winter. These are much slower growing and will take a couple of years to establish. Try to have about 25-30% different colour evergreen foliage so that there is interest in the winter.0

Try and find out where your local council nursery is, on special days they have the plants that they have brought on themselves on special offer, any that they have left over etc.... thats what our Council nursery told us when we bought our reduced price compost bin from them...0
