Pre Dissolution Directorships and CRB Check

Hi all. Brill site. Need a lil advice.

I held a pre dissolution directorship before the company went into liquidation. The company was a voluntary youth organisation and not for profit. Therefore was limited by guarantee with no share capital. The company had operated for about 6 years but i was only director for the last 6 months before it went into liquidation.

i now have a crb check being done on me as i have accepted a certain job and it requires that i have one done. One of the questions on there asks:

'are you party to any high court action?'

Based on the info given, can anyone advise me if am considered to be a party? I was one of three directors, and a part from a questionnaire i filled in in november last year i have not heard from the insolvency practitioner since then. The company status is'in liquidation'

If anyone can help me on this is would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi K9kobra & welcome

National Debtline: Full debt help service. Link: National Debtline Tel: 0808 808 4000 Opening times: M-F 9am-9pm, Sa 9.30am-1pm

I would suggest the Nat Debtline (Bus Debtline). My thoughts are it is not a High Court matter at all. Dissolution of a company is a wind -up proceedure & civil matter. I think the CRB is looking at criminal rather than civil matters.

Just my opinion & hope it helps.

Don't know if this is relevant, as it was a personal BR in the high court (that being my local one as I live in London), but I have enhanced CRB's done on me all the time (teacher you see) and I either answered 'no' to that question, or it wasn't relevant, although I don't really remember I don't recall answering yes to anything that isn't normal or filling it in differently than I did before I went BR.

Second the advice to call the national debt line, but with the upmost respect for them they probably won't know, so call the CRB helpline (it should be on the form or the completion forms) and ask them as they should be able to advise (one hopes! lol).

    Good luck
