Anyone else made jello biscuits? Last week I decided to make biscuits and realised I didn't have any golden syrup in. So I made up a 7p strawberry jelly I had in the cupboard and added about eight dessertspoons of it at double strength (before adding the cold water) to approx 5oz of flour, 4oz of melted marg and an ounce of sugar. Turned out pretty tasty, though less 'fruity' than I'd been expecting. The dough was also very 'clean' i.e. it 'gelled' together well and didn't stick to the mixing bowl. What have your best 'improvisations' been?

    rosemary from the garden in the yogurt cheese I like to make as I had run out of basil - its yummy

    Jealous now, no garden. I've got a mate with a big garden full of herbs and she never uses 'em. Peeps, use your herbs!

    I picked 2 strawbs from my mum's garden yesterday though. MMM. Flowers on the raspberry cane too.
