my remortgaging - deeds not transfered

Hi I am now in the process of changing my mortgage over to another Lender for a better interest rate, but they have told me that my property is still leasehold and hasn't been registered as freehold.

last year I Remortgage my house with another solicitors firm but they have not got the deeds transfered to freehold. I have spoken to them and they have now sent the forms to the council to transfer the deeds to me, it has been about a month now and the solicitor is saying I just have to wait for the council to do it.

Is there anything I can do against my last year solicitors can I claim money back from them for the inconvienience

Please could you let me know and advice
