M&S books reduced to £1!

My local large M&S has lots of books on final reductions, all reduced to £1 - including City Gardener (originally £20) and lots of cookbooks (originally £5-20). I got 5 books today, they even deducted the VAT so they were £4.89 and I had a giftcard from way back with £4.72 on it so they cost me 17p! :rotfl:

p.s. the SA forgot to tell me but I overheard another SA telling a customer that 'final reduction' items can't be returned, even for exchange. Worth bearing in mind next time you buy anything in M&S on final reduction that you *might* want to return - I wasn't previously aware of this policy.

Items on 'final reductions' are usually stamped with an S, and you're told you cannot return or exchange these except if it's e.g. faulty/damaged and then your statutory rights still exist.0

That's correct, but they do actually tell you as they serve you that there are no returns. And that in itself is naughty. They should not put up any signs or even say anything that purports to restrict your rights.0 -
