DD was a bridesmaid at the weekend and has brought her dress home with her. Although she's unlikely to wear it again before she out grows it she wants to keep it. Trouble is its teal blue and ivory polyester and filthy, especially along the bottom. The label says dry clean only. How can I clean it without paying out for drycleaning or the colours running or anything like that?

you could try a cool woolite (or similar) wash. Do you need to do the whole dress or just the hem? If it's polyester it should be OK.
I would probably try to use the froth, rather than full wetting the hem only and then drying off as best I could with clean towels.0 -
It appears top be just the hem, but then I only got around to taking it out the bag today so I haven't properly examined the rest of it in decent light. lolCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
