Officially bankrupt today

Well, I did it... as of 11.05am today I am officially br

Its weird because I feel really numb, I thought that I would feel really really happy, maybe it has not sunk in yet?? I still have my OR interview to go through yet, maybe it will all seem a bit more real then?

I got to my local court earlt,, I was the only person there today. Waited until the front desk opened at 10am.
It took about 30 mins to go through all the forms with the lady at the desk, I then swore my affidavit (sp) paid my £510

I had to wait around for about 40 mins & then had to have a quick chat with the or on the phone. I have to say that he was a really nice bloke & not at all judgemental, so that made me feel a bit more at ease.

I had visions of being hauled in front of loads of judges in wigs & given a real telling off. I didnt even have to see the judge, the paper work was just signed.

I still have my longer OR interview to do & this may be done either via the telephone or I may have to go into their offices in Leeds.

I just want others to know, that its not anywhere near as bad as you think it will be & ALL of the people I have spoken with are really really nice.

I may be allowed to keep my business going (I am self employed with an online business) but we will have to wait & see what the OR has to say about things.

Its a HUGE relief to know that now I dont have to jiggle all my credit around to try & make the £1500 per month min payments, plus my half of the household bills.

BIG BIG lesson learnt (the hard way)

Good luck to all on the journey & MANY MANY THANKS for all the support I have had from you guys on here.

Yep, kinda seems that most people feel a bit numb after, I think its the huge sense of relief... Now you'll need to let it sink in that you don't have to rob Peter to pay Paul each month, that takes a while (well it did, still is for me).

It has to be in cash. I stopped paying last months c/c bills & saved that money up to pay for my br fees

You may get a fee reduction but that all depends on your income or if you get certain benefits.

Good luck with it all & if you need any help, give me a nudge
