Just spent an hour on the phone with the Halifax discussing remortgaging with them, dependent on house valuation we can go ahead.....they've agreed our needs, remortgaging the balance plus adding £20k for debt. The credit search came back fine.

They are sending out quotes and calling back on Tuesday. Am I under any obligation with them now?

...and shop around, I don't see Halifax ranking too highly on sourcing platforms and if you pass with them you should be ok most other places too. Good luck.

edit...dont' let anyone else go as far as credit checks until you know what is on offer.

Thanks, where else would you recommend? My head is fried with all this but it's quite urgent.

We need somewhere who will take tax credit into consideration as income, my husband had to take quite a low paid job so this is vital....
