    Just my twopenneth but I'd be sending them a letter of complaint by recorded delivery advising that if you don't get a full written explanation within 14 days that you'd be contacting the financial ombudsman for their assistance.

    That's a bit ungrateful. Shouldn't the OP be thanking her lucky stars that NR have allowed her to sell up even though she was in negative equity?

    Hi,
    Just out of interest did you tell/ask NR if you could sell your house? I also have one of the together morgages and I was advised that NR 'may' not give me permission to sell the house when its in Negative Equity. I havent contacted them directly yet as I havent fully decided if its worth selling at the moment.
