Nottingham County Court

Does anybody know how the bankruptcy process works at Nottingham County Court? Ie can I just turn up one morning with relevant paperwork/fees or do I need to call them to book an appointment?

Someone posted their experience on here (can't remember name sorry) and it sounds like at their court all they did was turn up one morning with relevant details and queue at a counter to get the ball rolling!

each court works differently with bankruptcy hearings....best to ring them & see if you need to make an appt (while your on to them ask how many copies of bankruptcy paperwork you'll need as well..)

Hiya I went through Nottingham county court,

you need to book an appointment, i had to wait about 4 weeks although you might get a cancellation.

you have to get there by 8.30am - the security at the front desk will point you in the right direction. the cash desk check your forms, you need 3 copies of your forms and take your payment.

they ask you to come back at half 10 and call you to the counter and give you your bankruptcy number and tell you the OR will phone later -mine rang at half 2 to check details my OR interview was a week later.

they do ask you not to leave the court i guess just incase the judge does decide to see you, so we went for a cuppa upstairs. I didnt see the judge.

I was out by 11 and went straight to the coop branch and opened my new account.

when you make your appointment they do send you all the info you need

    goodluck

    Thanks :)

What kind of questions does the OR ask you? Presumably most of what they need to know would be in the forms you've submitted?

I've just called the court and the next available date is 11 September. Apparently they have 80 appointments a day but they're all at 8:30!

the OR will go though your forms, check details and also go though your reasons.
if you have any assets like car, house etc.

have you filled in your forms yet?
    and done your reasons?

there is lots of help here if you have any questions

I thought it was a bit crazy, maybe i've misheard!

Not filled out the forms yet, but I'll post my soa on here again once I have just so i can get some other opinions :)

It's very comforting to see so many people have gone through it and come out the other end relatively unscathed, although I'm under no illusion that any of it is going to be easy.
