Hullo,
We are in a bit of trouble so have decided to go through CCCS. They are helping lots which is really helping our stress levels right now!
We cancelled our direct debits to the credit cards as instructed, All fine and dandy but we have a loan taken out with the bank we are with (Barclays) they still took the money for the loan out this month.
Now, It could be because we only cancelled the direct debit a day or two before it was due to come out or, Could it be that because the loan is with the bank we are with we cannot cancel the loan direct debit and they take it anyway, Even with the direct debit to pay it cancelled?
Thanks in advance.

surely CCCS have instructed you to open a new bank account with someone unrelated to your debt and make sure all your income goes in there?0

Umm, I'm not sure to be honest, It's my partner who is dealing with CCCS and he just told me the above.
Would it be wise then to get everything transferred to another bank account? It shouldn't be too hard as I already have a separate account with another bank.
What would happen if we stayed with Barclays? Would they carry on taking the loan money out anyway, Or, Would it stop but they get funny with us about the account?0 -

It's absolutely essential to use a different account... of course they will take out their payments from your current account if they can.0 -
Even if the direct debit is cancelled?0

Yes even if you cancel the DD.
Their T&Cs allow the right of offsetting any of your debts from any other of your accounts with them.
I'm amazed that CCCS didn't tell you to do this immediately0
