Has anyone any experience of a company called Advantage Credit? Whenever we get home from work there is always a message on the answering machine saying to call them urgently. The message is never addressed to anyone and always cuts off before the whole number has been given.

I have googled them and can only find an american company. this one has a 0844 number.

I am just wondering who these people are!

We have had an increasing numbers of red letter post for the man we bought the house from a couple of years ago so I suppose they could be hunting for him (assuming they are debt collectors. You hear the word 'credit' and panic!)

  • I have recently had calls from a company who I thought was called Advantage Credit also and they left a number but did not say who they wanted or give any other information. I also googled them like yourself and it seemed to be an American company.

However, when I rang the number back the company was actually called "Advantis Credit", with a website - just search on google for it. This company is a debt collection agency and buy bad debts from credit card companies and the like and then chase the consumers on the companies behalf.

    The number is: 0845 4022430.

The lady I spoke to was very polite and as it transpired they wanted to speak to someone with a different name and address (in the same road as us though). So she promised to change her records, so we would not receive any further calls....

    We will wait and see!
  • they call me everyday and i did think even after talking to them that they were called advantage credit but i guess i was wrong. They have told me over and over that they will remove me from their call list but it keeps happening. They do know who they are calling for but its my twin brother and he passed away in 2004 so its no good for them to be calling me, still happens over and over.
