Thinking of Moving to Ireland in next few months?

Hi,
As the post says, thinking of moving to Ireland in the next few months (Republic). Would I be able to do this whilst still bankrupt. Also, when I get there, do I have to declare my bankruptcy if I want to rent a house?
Thanks,
Poodle

Not too sure on the bankruptcy laws in ireland...BUT if there're the same here then nothing stopping you moving while bankrupt....you would have to declare your bankruptcy if asked...most landlords would credit check anyhow & see it for themselves
be difficult to find a landlord without rent up front & a guarantour (sp)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
trust me if you have cash you do not need to worry about refs in ireland now, Im from there, if you have one month rent and one month deposit it is all you need, there is generally no credit checks done
www.daft.ie is a good site for finding accomodation www.myhome.ie gives you ideas of house prices0 -
The one thing I found hard when I moved over there was getting a tax number. I had a job when I got there so was employed but I couldn't get a Tax number until I had a bank account and couldn't open a bank account without having a tax number. I also needed to have proof of residency so had to be put on my boyfriends rental contract as an amendment and had to show them proof of income to be added. It was sorted after a few days but it was the sitting around in the offices waiting while they all checked out I was not just there to claim benefits. Luckily I had a few days spare before starting the job otherwise it may have not gone down so well taking time off in my first week of working. HTH0
