IFA paperwork

Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum but I've got a quick question about IFA's. I've always used one for all my mortgages, life assurance etc. After a series of bad advice I'm thinking of cutting all ties with the IFA. Am I entitled to request the return of all paperwork relating to my financial matters?

Thanks in advance.

No - they need to keep records themselves. You can request copies though

Cheers. Not sure what I'd do with it all anyway! Who needs an IFA when you have this site! :money:

Someone who hasn't kept the original paperwork for financial transactions and doesn't know what to do with it anyway - perhaps, just perhaps  :A

I meant as in where I'd store it. IFA has proved to be incompetent & so far lost me over £80k, recently lost some important paperwork for a legal case by not sending recorded delivery - probably losing me another £35k + owes one of her clients over £35k after 'borrowing' it as a friend. Not surprisingly they now have a CCJ against them... Think it's pretty obvious why I now want to deal with my own financial affairs directly rather than risk getting fingers burnt again!

    No.

If you followed it regularly you would realise that an awful lot do. Although this section isnt really one of the IFAs. Most IFAs dont do mortgages.
IFA has proved to be incompetent & so far lost me over £80k,

One assumes you are making a complaint on how they have lost you £80k
