I doubt you'll get many companies/people willing to pay £500 for a $10 domain. They'll probably just look for a different domain.0

The problem is there are so many alternatives for a domain so saying if you have the .com version they could just get a .org or .co. etc0

You could be looking at legal issues too if the domains are brands or trademarks. The whole business of cyber-squatting, apart from being a form of extortion / blackmail, is starting to attract the lawyers and thats never a good place to be. Its ok to add a admin fee for procuring a domain name, but inflating a products price to one hundred times its value is just wrong...Beer meter E[.\.......]F0

I'm not sure that that is quite as great a business opportunity these days as it was in the dot-com boom.
All of the good ones should be gone, and as noted above, if you buy the domain name of an established company then they may well be able to just take it off you.
One of the things that companies have done of late is to invent names that aren't really words, just to avoid name clashes (both for the business entoity and their online identity).0 -
your best bet is to get domains that are like other top domains and gooooogle .blah and then park it with adverts. I have 3 or 4 and make about £50 a year. Search for Domain parking if you are interested.0

Try Digital Point Forums, Sedo, Afternic, Namepros, Moniker, Ebay, etc.
Really depends on your domain name, where the best place to sell is...0
