Nothing more than swabs taken from various parts of your body. Non-invasive (no needle or anything nasty). Literally just a wipe with a cotton-tipped wand thing. Where from varies between hospitals. Typical places:
    - Nose
    - Throat
    - Axillae
    - Groins
    - Any wounds.

Same for me, nothing nasty at all. They may give you a special wash to use before and after too, but again not nasty, very mild and doesn't smell. There is a regime you have to follow but can't remember.

I had the test a few weeks back and it's as momoyama and xxvickixx says. The nurse just swabbed my nose and the back of my throat with a cotton bud type thing. They then send it for testing and give you a call if it is positive with advice.

That sounds like treatment for if you actually have MRSA, a "Staph Pack"

I had emergency surgery though so maybe it was precautionary while they were waiting on the results, I didn't have MRSA but still was required to continue the regime for 10 days. Apparently I was at risk as had already had an operation a few weeks before I was admitted.
