butternut squash, goats cheese, puff pastry...

OK-
I have a butternut squash in fridge from veg box, I have half a pack of all butter puff pastry, goats cheese, feta, mascarpone, herbs taking over my garden, tomatoes ripening on the vine, and loads of onions, carrots lettuce and a pretty stocked store cupboard

:confused:What can I make? Can I do a tart? roast the squash with some herbs or spices and onions and stick them on top of a puff pastry base? With some goats cheese?
I don't LOVE butternut squash, I find it quite sweet sometimes so a way that makes it more savoury would be good :D
Thanks :)

a favourite of mine is to do some onion and garlic in a pan till soft, then add some diced squash and cook it till it gets that nice 'fried' look, roll out the puff pastry and poke holes in the middle of it with a fork, throw the onion, garlic and squash into the middle and spread about leaving a good edge of the pastry..break up the goats cheese and sprinkle around over the squash and then stick in the oven on a high'ish heat 7 maybe for about 20 mins or till cooked..sorry i dont really time it lol... if you have room in the cooker - salt the vine tomatoes and shove them in as well.. enjoy

    Hi Hotcookie
you could try a veggie curry using the squash, I have done this before and it was really nice, you could use your onions and carrots as well and some cauli, brocolli and potato yum
The tart sounds lovely, but I do love butternut squash especially roasted

Thanks all for the ideas, I know I don't like it in soup-WAY too sweet unless add about half a bottle lee&perrins, pie looks good, may do a pasty type thing depending on how much I feel like comfort food
