Dark UnderEye Circles

Ok,

Can anyone offer any advice on how to get rid of dark undereye circles?

I've struggled with these for years and they are so aging!

Read this article, yes I know it's from the Daily Mail but it makes many good points about the link between dark circles and nutrition.

I'd also add that drinking plenty of water helps for obvious reasons (flushing out toxins from your system).

So once you've looked at the above you can also try to conceal them: Use a yellow concealer under your eyes then foundation. There are lots of them on the market. I must say the better ones are usually more expensive.

I know a few people who use this:
http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Benefit+14g+Eyecon+brightening+eye+cream/734049122,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=affiliates-_-google-_-feed-_-beauty It's not cheap by any standards but they say it's the best product they've used.

Yes, drinking water, plenty of good quality sleep. My mum says the Avon cream for dark circles is very good. I have noticed a difference in her dark circles.

Thanks, I drink 2-3 litres of water a day and I'm 37, have tried the Benefit eye cream and just found it made my eyes puffy. Will try the Avon one and see if that helps.

If they run in your family nothing will get rid of them. I have very dark circles and deep set eyes. The sinus can also cause this too. The best you can do is conceal them. Sorry there is no miracle cure.

I have also been looking for something to help under my eyes! I have just received the avon catalogue but couldnt seem to find a cream that said for dark circles, was it just their normal undereye cream or did it have a particular name?
Thanks, oh and i find touche eclat brilliant for cover up, and £8 cheaper on line than the shops!!

Just to chip in here about Avon, I have recently discovered this brand and they sent me a book but quite a bit of the stuff that was online wasn't in the book:confused:so worth a look at the website:)
Thank you for this site Martin

The body shop used to do a brilliant product, it was in a small tube with green writing. It came in a box with an eye mask and tweezers. Never found it again. It was brilliant for under eye circles, it would lighten them overnight! I have been in to the store and asked the sales assistants if they still stock this product but sadly non of them have ever heard of it. I had the product around 3/4 years ago though and it must have been discontinued if I can't find it in store and no sales assistants have heard of it. Maybe it was just a limited edition gift set item...
  • And using an old battery toothbrush (bear with me) as an auto facial scrub works if you use the handle end against the face, sweeping out from your sinuses to your temples. I had no idea just how weird that sounds until I read it back, but I use a colgate buzzy brush and it has made the dark circles almost invisible.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

If they're hereditary, not much you can do but cover them up. I have dark circles and a visible vein under my left eye. I wear glasses so they're not that noticeable, but when I take my glasses off people constantly ask if I'm feeling unwell/tired! :o

I use YSL and a touch of Hide The Blemish on top, then set with powder. Seems to work. Make sure you get the inner eye, on the side of your nose, as this can make dark circles look lots worse. Also, a white eye liner can help with brightening the eye area.

If not hereditary, it could be a build up of fluids under the eye, which show through the skin as it's so thin in that area. Try tapping the dark circles with your middle finger throughout the day to dispel the fluid.

If you've had them forever like me then they're genetic and there's not much you can do. HOWEVER I've found that the Garnier caffeine stick lessens the puffiness and then I just put a good concealer on top. Looks better than ever.
