They're merely reporting a FACT: something you don't appear to want to accept. Sometimes in life one has to face up to reality, and the FACT is that house prices are RISING once again! And have been for most of this year................................................

Yea right. So we have " normal " BOE base rates of .5%, the lowest what for about a million years. Most people my age, old, would have " enjoyed " base rates of around 8% historically.

Will base rates ever come back to the long term average? Not altogether sure. However, with the BOE pumping money into the economy, I suspect that we will see inflationary pressure over the the next few years. Fine mess they got us into.

Could you explain that to us mere mortals who think that house prices have increased by around 1.1% in 2009 (according to the NW).
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher

Dammit, I had a bet with someone that prices would be lower in a years time, that was in early June. He thought they would be higher.
I still think he is disillusionable (good word, although not sure it really exists), but maybe it's me. :D

So back to the crazy house price inflation with people overstretching themselves and signing on to a lifetime of debt. What a sorry mess this govt has dragged us into.
