OK, day 3 of my bailiff saga continues.
He was banging on the door at 9:30am this morning, we hid again, this time he left a note saying he was coming back in 4 hours to remove the goods.
OH phoned him to say the house/any goods were in his name. Bailiff said as i live here, it doesnt matter and he will be returning to take them this afternoon.
Phoned the bailiff company, they were no help. He in the meantime is phoing OH's phone, then mine, then OH's. OH picked up and he was rude, aggressive and very intimdiating.
Crux of it, OH has just extended his overdraft and paid it. Now he is incredibly pished off with me (which I don't blame) and he is fuming with this company. I am currently grovelling majorly to OH for his help.
Is it worth writing a letter to this company to make a complaint?

Yes - did you get the baliffs name? Who are the baliff company acting on behalf of?
Hope you got a receipt from the baliff for the cash paid - keep this somewhere very safe.
He would not have been able to remove goods that did not belong to you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

JAIL? What company was that? I think the bailiffs don't know about this website.0 -
This is one for Herbie. She's more up on that side of things than I am.
Bailiffs often threaten people with jail but it is an empty threat. A bailiff CAN return a debt to the court if the bailiff cannot enforce the debt, however it is the decision of the court, not the bailiff, as to what happens next. There are very few debts for which you can actually go to jail over non-payment, and in all those cases you pretty much have to be shown to be willfully avoiding payment (e.g. "refuse to pay" as opposed to "unable to pay".If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
