I gave up buying expensive brands a few years ago and now get my kettles from LIDL when they have them on - which is tomorrow for my area at least. I am going to get one as my other one is on its last legs. I don't know if it is because we live in a hard water area and even though we filter all our water we still go through kettles like nothing else!

As to the other two I have used them both in the past and they didn't go the distance. Hope you get sorted!
  • I bought this one about a month ago. http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCode=RUS-KET-13775-BK All the ones on the Which report seemed to be a bit old & hard to get hold of, so I checked out the Amazon reviews. Really pleased with this, it's quick it's quiet & most importantly it doesn't leak! I've gone for the all singing all dancing models in the past with fancy lights & stuff, but in my opinion it's just not worth paying silly prices for a kettle. Btw Coop had the best price when I bought, not sure if you can now get it cheaper elsewhere ;)

Given the choice of the two I'd go for Russell Hobbs, but it's pretty much a question of choice.

Look for the features you want, plus the design & the price you wish to pay. Then try to do a google search to see if there are any reviews the kettle you might want to buy.

I'm currently in the market for a new kettle & have discounted one RH because some reviews said it was a bit noisy compared to other kettles. I'm now considering a Morphy Richards, as it has all the features I require & is said to be pretty quiet.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Not sure - but I had two coffee machines that were Russell Hobbs and they both broke (the heating element broke) - plus although they looked stylish they were a bit flimsy.

    They're pretty similiar brands though.

Morphy Richards customer service is second to none.

I had a 5 year old MR deep fat fryer which eventually needed a new basket handle, they were unable to supply one as they had stopped making that model, so replaced the whole fryer with one of my choice from their whole range, free of charge. The fryer was well out of guarantee and they could have just refused to help, I was most impressed.

As for kettles, well I just buy the cheapest I can find but if you want to compare then you can sign up for a trial of Which? for £1 for the first month (I'm sure it used to be free ) You can search all their product trials and reviews to find the best appliance for your needs.
