New to this so go easy please...

Under the section for :
Paying into registered pension schemes

Which of the following contributions should I include....

1/ Contributions to an endowment policy for a mortgage that has long since been paid up.

2/ Contributions to an endowment linked to my existing mortgage.

3/ Contributions to my contracted out SERPS pension.


I know this is very basic stuff, but I've never needed to submit one before so it all a bit galling.

Its nothing to do with your mortgage payments, only pension payments made in the year if you didn't get tax relief on the payments. IE if you paid say £100 and the government topped up your payments by £25 then you've had the relief.

I think pensions are a bit more complicated than this, especially if the poster is self employed.

With a bit of luck the poster is on PAYE and not a higher rate person?
