Asda Kids meals £1-68 each or 2 for £2!

Options
Hi all, I hope this is on the right board!
I've just got back from Asda and in the restaurant their kids meals (hot or cold) are on offer usually £1-68 each but now 2 for £2-00. As a mum of 4 I found this great! Fed all of them for £1 each!!!

Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!

I believe you can order the boxes to take out for parties also.
  • A Mum behind me in the queue ordered 3 kids meals and an extra kids coke. The coke cost 62p so i suggested that she order a cold box to take home ie saving 32p as the coke would then be "free" but he said that she didnt want the meal! and paid the extra...not a MSE

I asked about parties for but the sa said that the offer was for only 2 or 4 at a time and the bulk rate would be £1.58 each. I decided to start buying them in pairs for ds party in May (removing the yoghurt and sandwich for lunch today) as wanted the other contents, wallace and Gromit box and toy for the party. I ended up with a couple of rubbish toys and the two meals in a plastic bag as they had run out of boxes!

Eating little but often is a good way to eat better than having three main meals a day.

Hi, Just been to IKEA. The lunch menu looked very unappealing, and all were at least £3+, and I only wanted a cheap bite to eat and coffee. I ended up with a 'vegetarian panne' something or other, and at the last moment asked for a kids meat balls - 20p for 5 meat balls, which also included chips !!
The vegetarian panne was dreadfull - only thing which made it edible was the beetroot salsa/relish. But the kids meatballs and chips really hit the spot. Next time I will stick to the kids 20p menu and coffee - 95p in total and free refills !! :T And no I didn't have any kids with me, but how would the staff serving the food know that, my 'kids' could have been at a table with their Dad for all they know !! ;)

Went to the Asda in Southport and they only do the cold meals, my children didn't fancy a ham or cheese sandwich so ended up at the chippy!!

Absolutely gutted about Paul Walker - RIP xx

I don't know if it applies to all Asda's but our local one has a sign up saying that childrens meals are only available to children aged 15 years or younger. I dont know how they police this but presumably unless you have a child with you when you order then they wont serve you? I think its disgusting because those who dont eat much end up paying extra for a huge meal that they wont eat all of. I've never been challenged but I always have 4 of the little darlings with me!
