or question

i plan to go bankrupt in the coming months , i have a little bit of money i have saved ,about £1000 after i pay the fees.
can i move this to an account of my mothers so that it doesnt get frozen when i go bankrupt ,
i have moved back to my folks place so this could become rent payments, is this allowed??
i am going to need this as a deposit for a new house after the br .

Move? No. The OR will see it and want to know what it is. The OR may or may not care that its for a deposit.

Withdraw and claim you have spent it on essential living costs? Then yes. Whats the timing for renting after BR? You could tell the OR you have withdrawn in cash to pay the deposit ASAP if very soon after.
  • i plan to live with my folks untill i have a bit of money behind me ,which is why i wondered if i could pay my mum rent , of say 500 per month when she is only asking for 200.
as for the money best to just take cash out and stick it under the mattress , can i be sneaky and pay by card at a supermarket but get cash back so it seems all the money is spent on grocerys??

i dont want to try and get one over on them ,but i dont want to loose all that i have saved.

The OR will be expecting you to pay rent to your parents as long as it is reasonable. Reasonable? I think £4-500 for all rent and bills would prob be reasonable

Be sure to post up your SOA before you go bankrupt so we can make sure you are claiming for everything.

I reckon the cash back scheme may get noticed, but paying for food may be over looked. As for the matress, better there than anywhere. Even if not going BR;)

Yep...nothing to stop you using a relative/freind etc account until you open a basic account for yourself
