So Far , so good

Haven't spent much this week at all, as i have been trying to use up everything in the cupboards.
We get our £100 every week and so far i used £50 to pay off a bill, petrol and elec and bits and bots, like milk and bread.
I have a few pence left and that is to do me untill Monday but hopefully i'll not be anywhere or need anything untill then.
We haven't ate out all week which is a major achievement to us as we usually eat at least 3 times a week, and i have been making meals every night but feel as though i have been living in the kitchen.
Am very very pleased so far as we usually can't afford to pay a bill out of this money but i feel i am missing out when i'm not spending.
I know it sounds silly but i have missed popping to the shop for a bottle of coke and a mag ( i've also stopped the coke although it's kiling me).
My cupboards are bare so probably won't be able to pay a bill next week as we will need shopping.

Once you get into the rolling routine of it, it will work itself out I think. I was spending £75 a week on food, and now, veering around the £25 mark. I have more time to make say, a gorgeous baked alaska, as Im not spending most of my freetime in a checkout queue. Ive got used to not spending every day, quite frankly I had to stop it, otherwise it was gonna stop me!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

well done you are going well :)

re eating out ,we have a night a week where i will make a "homemade takeaway" lol

    so a huge curry,with poppadoms,naan,pickles etc,a huge feast :)

theres always some left to freeze for another meal or 2 and i feel smug knowing its cost so much less than going to the restaurants and is better for us as i know exactly whats gone into it or not lol

could do the same for chippy dinner, pizza ,italian etc

your own home made versions :)

The popping out to the shops is a killer isn't it? I made myself start a few new hobbies so that there is always something better I should be doing than popping down the shops, especially knitting, when I start I can't stop which is why I knitted a blanket for my DD's bed in less than a week :)

You could always pop out to the library instead.
Get a good book or 6 and curl up at home with a cuppa and feast your eyes on all those lovely FREE books.
Some homemade meals are just as quick as takeaways.Spag Bol can be cooked and on the table in about 20 minutes which is about how long it takes to go to our local chinese or chippy.

    Congrats from me too!

yes, popping out to the shops can be a killer... I don't do it but my OH does and I'm on the verge of killing him! I do a lot of cross stitch and that keeps me busy so I don't feel I have to go out.

lynzpower, can I have your recipe for baked alaska? Would love to try that one day :j
