New Build Mortgages

I need a little bit of advice. We are looking to reserve a plot for a new build with Barratts. House is going to be priced between £150 - £160K, and we are thinking about their shared equity scheme (we put 5% and they put 15%). Therefore I need to look at Mortgages that accept new build houses for 80% LTV.

I have been told that there is only a few lenders that will do this, is this true?

Comments

  • Yes thats true - I have a house on the same scheme and had a choice of nationwide or hbos (naturally went for nationwide)... Barratts have brokers who help to sort it out. ps what house are you looking at...we got a sutton at that price
  • Thanks, we're looking to get a Maidstone. I haven't seen one yet, but I like the layout. They will be built in Feb / March so I have lots of time to look at one / change my mind.
