Is £10k too small for a mortgage?

I am about to receive enough money to virtually clear my mortgage, but will have between £5/10k left outstanding. I have been looking for best buys to cover the remaining small loan but it seems to me that the best deals are not open to me or involve such high fees as to not be fantastic deals in this case. I have an old endowment due to finish in 9 years time, even at worst case scenario this should realise £23k so will more than cover any loan I now take out.

Can anyone recommend a great deal which would suit my circumstances, preferably as good as the best buys for loans of higher values?

you could just stay on the SVR with your current provider.

This has all been initiated by a personal tragedy, so the house I have moved into was formerly a rental property of mine and is on a BTL loan basis. Also, I am now newly a lone parent and need to get my finances to a position where I know where I am, at least for a couple of years, and I have no job as am in the process of selling my other rentals to partially clear the mortgage where I am living, and in suffering from depression I am not sure what work I am going to be able to find. So although I have a clean credit record I have no real income for the moment. All very complicated.

The house I am living in is worth approx £180k.

Have you considered surrendering the endowment to repay the mortgage now?
