Sticky Windows

Hi

The neighbour above me must have been cleaning her patio floor as all the dirty water has spilled onto my living room windows (I live in a block of flats). I have tried to clean them using washing up liquid & a sponge & also window cleaner (containing vinegar) & a clean cloth. Both havent worked.

The windows are really sticky almost like treacle or glue. When Ive touched them, my fingers almost stick together & have have to wash them quite a few times to get my hands clean & stop my fingers sticking together.

I dont know what the hell it is & not sure how to clean it. I've knocked on their door quite a few times to ask them to stop doing what ever it is & asking them if they've used a super sticky cleaning product. But no one ever answers the door.

I can barely see out of them as its all blurred & Im worried on a sunny day I'll have loads of insects sticking to them & whether the windows are ruined.

Can anyone please help??

  • Have you got plastic windows or wood?
If this neighbour keeps doing it report them to the council they will ask them to stop for you.
The only thing that I can think of is methylated spirits to clean your windows but the room must be ventilated and you must wear gloves
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
