Recovery Not in Sight

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8182816.stm

BMW statement, not mine. It does not appear that any sort of recovery is just around the corner, even with those seeing round corner fancy headlights.

I sold shares today. Anyone joining me?

Recovery will be here when we are standing on our own two feet, comfortably paying off our massive debts. It will happen I hope, but not for some time yet. The current recovery is based on borrowing, the only difference between the borrowing now and the run upto the 2007-8 meltdown, is credit is even cheaper.

To go back into the pub after nearly dying the night before from alcohol abuse, to find the barman offering the same drink but cheaper, and you taking up his offer is only going to end one way.

Never owned BMW shares. The fact that the UK was their biggest export market sums up their worth.

    Expensive status symbol.

Spent 6 months arguing for a new engine when the second 5 series was launched. Thanks to Top Gear programme they soon backtracked. Never touched them since

the only people I ever knew with a BMW were lads on the council estate. Some status symbol... although one did chuck me the keys to his posher/bigger BMW one night so I could cruise round town so long as I picked him up from the pub at 11.30 and drove him home in it.

No. I kind of didn't pick up on the fact that if a guy gives you his dream car keys for the night and tells you to enjoy his car round town all evening ... that he might like you.

And, he lived with his mum.

Oh - and he never asked... if he had have asked, I'd have gone in for coffee... because in my simpleton world coffee MEANS coffee.
