Hello,
I just wanted to know if anyone actually got a full current account after bankruptcy and if so how long after bankruptcy??
I've been discharged since feb 2006 and after cleaning up my credit file I got a Full current account with lloyds the Classic account, with a Visa card and cheque book.

Well I've been discharged well over 5 years and cannot get a ''full'' bank account. RBS/NATWEST ask if you have you been bankrupt and it gets declined, but you maybe able to open a basic account.
Tried Abbey and LTSB both declined and that was only for a basic!
So staying with Yorkshire Bank for now as I've got a Maestro card and good internet service. I hope to try HSBC when my files are clean;) They have a branch close by, Yorkshire Bank is miles away from me.0 -
Problem with natwest they declined me initially...I went into my local branch asking for a basic account...the staff filled all the application by hand & sent off to head office...few days later they rang me to say i'd been approved for the standard acc with O/D & Chequebook....a little shocked & asked them to check again 3 times! happy with the account so farWe all die. Did you get the dreaded question from the RBS group? have you ever been bankrupt? I was applying about 10 days ago on-line but pulled out of the application. A bank worker on the forum said if you tick yes it gets declined and you could go in the branch for a referral.
So couldn't be bothered in the end!0
