You need to be aware that you are each jointly and severably liable for the whole debt - i.e. they can chase either or both of you for all of what's owed. They won't only chase you for half (or any other proportion) of it. Keeping in touch with the lender should help (but these are strange times).Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

I know of folks who are still paying for properties that were repoed in the early 1990's.0
