basic bank a/c - good news to share

Hi
Just opened a basic bank account with Co-Op bank over the phone.
Took me days to make the call (usual tears and inability to do anything when tying to deal with any of the BR stuff) but it was simple and painless, and the person I spoke to was nice too...the new a/c paperwork will come in the post in a few days.
Still struggling with wading my way through all the paperwork from the business to get the BR forms filled in, but slow progress is better than no progress:j
Just needed to share, so thanks...

Well done
Thats 1 less thing to do / stress about
Like the elephant, 1 bite at a time!In for a penny in for a pound :j0 -
I agree, I have just done the same phoned the Co-Op Cashminder number, chap was really helpful. I explained I am an undischarged Bankrupt and would like an account, no problems at all. The applcation took about 5 mins, asked my address and contact details, read out the terms that i had to agree to (Data protection, Anti Fraud, that sort of thing)
Said I had been approved in priciple and should receive a welcome pack in about 10 days time.
I had put this of until after my OR interview today, I still feel really bad phoning up the CC companies and giving them the OR details and my BR number, even though they have made thousands from me just paying the min intrest to them for years.
I am looking forward to dealing with and being 100% control of my finances, know what I have and don't. I have felt like a machine for so long, work work work and then DD's take the money, nothing left over usually in overdraft and then on to the next month and the next and so on....
Now I can start again :T:TBR as of 24th July 20090 -

I'm the same. Just not 100% looking forward to someone removing the comfort blanket of credit. But having it there in the first place is what got me into trouble in the first placeIn for a penny in for a pound :j0
