BI - I need three valuations

Hello All,

My OR interview is over... I need to provide the OR with three valuations for my house so that the BI can be arranged (he said it would take about 3 months)...

What's the best way for me to get these valuations in writing. Will Estate Agents just come and do it for me or will I need to pay someone?

Thanks,

    Hi

I have just been thorugh this bit myself within the last week. You can pay a chartered surveyor to do it. I went through the Yellow Pages, and the average price was about £200. Very Expensive! Or you can get in touch with all the estate agents in your area and get them to come around. I found that if I said it was for bankruptcy they charge you about £80. However, if you pretend that you may be relocating within the next 6 months or so, and you need a quick sale then they will gladly come round. Make sure you get as many quotes as possible, I got about 6 quotes, and only sent in 3 of the lowest. Also, you need it in writing..most estate agents that came round brought a terms of sale type sheet..make sure they fill this in, as on this page they put down the market value, commission rates and their details. You can just send this in to the OR then. Be pushy so that they fill it in there and then, and go through it with you. Make sure you seem very keen and are gonna make a decision within the next 2 says sort of thing! I hope this helps.

    Thanks all,,,

will pretend I am relocating - I will find it a bit nerveracking as I guess they are getting wise to this with the numbers of BR going up... (or am I just paranoid that they will look me up on the BR register)?

£80 sounds ridiculously high for what will probably be only 1 hours work for them, way beyond what I can afford... Oh well, best get on with it!!

    Thanks again..
