Hello and help required on Bank Account

Hello all, I was wondering I am going bankrupt soon and have been advised to open a barclay's or Co-op basic account. So off I went to my local barclays bank and asked for a basic bank account. After an hour of someone pressuring me I walked out with a current account with overdraft and a visa debit card.

My question is will I be better to drop the account to a normal current account with no overdraft etc. When I was in the bank I was too embarrased to tell the person i was going bankrupt hence why I took the account in the end.

Also after talking to the cccs I was advised to basically stop paying my credit bills as this was just dead money. Obviously I am paying the mortgage and household bills . But as Im with the lloyds tsb at the moment is it advisable to get my money paid into my new current account and my household bills be taken out of there.

I ask as I have a lloyds tsb loan which is included in the bankruptcy and basically I cannot afford to pay it , so therefore I thought to leave the direct debit in my old bank account where my wages are not paid in.

I hope I come across clear and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ask them can this account be changed to a basic one...you should never feel pressured into anything...IF you dont change this account they will freeze/close once finding out about your BR anyway...I had the same barclays acc & they closed mine & offered to open a new basic account instead.
