I think this is countrywide and it has replaced the 2 for £30 offer they were running up until yesterday.
Implication being that £15 will be their normal price...
Still has the £5 free call credit AFAIK.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
As I posted last week in another thread, my wife used the Tesco phone to call me when I was working in malaysia a couple of weeks ago and I'm using it to call my mother who is on an extended holiday in Italy.
I paid £20 for mine, at 2p or 3p per minute it has already paid for itself.0 -
Personally I just use the callchecker on this site.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/callchecker/
Cheapest for Italy atm is 0.5p per minute .. normal landline phone so no slight echos as with voip when I have tried it and no outlay to begin with.0 -
Now what kind of a son would I be if I was not prepared to pay 2p per minute to talk to my dear old ma?
A long time ago I barred all international, mobile and premium rate numbers from the NTL house phones due to my kids.
Do NTL stick a connection charge on the 0.5p calls?0 -
The same telephone is available from Aria for about £10 but they do charge about £6.00 for delivery so only cheap if you need other items at the same time
I have been using one in conjunction with Voipcheap for about a month now and my telephone bill has reduced significantly. Calls to UK landlines are all freeOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0 -

Thanks for that Jack's Dad - did you have to install any additional software to get the 'phone to work with Voipcheap? If that is the case, any pointers to where I can find it?
Cheers

Just go to voipcheap and download their software
Add some credit to your account and away you go, very simpleOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0 -
It is worth noting that you can buy the handset from Tesco, but you don't have to use it with their tarrif. You can alsways download the software from other providers, such as voipcheap, skype etc0
