surely we woud lliek to see character building preserved rather then knocked down..
ps im not an oap but very young..but london has its historic chracter which shoudl be kept..the community centre is in need to a massive chance///lol have a look at southall community centre...your lucky Actons is at least standing upright!

We do want to preserve what little historic character is left in Acton, which is why over 200 people attended a meeting in Acton Town Hall a few weeks ago to oppose the plans.

acton needs regenration of its high street of where mcdonalds lies
its in the plans and it looks great if it does get the go ahead..
unfortunately this means the vale part is overlooked..often with regenraton only a key point of money making for the council is looked at..
whic hsi why ealing is carefully looked after being the borough

perivale..just got its own postcode..that shoudl be enough for a decade for them lol

Guys , I got an update for this as promised!!

Received the Leaflet through My door this Morning and this is what it says :
"Ealing council will be giving Council Tax Payers £50 Cash Back to help them through tough financial times in the run up to Christmas. Eligible Recipients who pay their Council tax by Direct Debit will receive their payment promptly in their bank or building society account"
Then it has some details how to set up direct debits online , By telephone or by post and the benefits of paying by DD. I see nothing else at all! Does this mean only people who pay their Council Tax by direct debit will receive this £50?

    _________________________________________

Edit: But then I see this small article on Page 6-7 {top right of page} in the Around Ealing magazine. You can have a quick view online of the Magazine here and it seems to help us understand a little more.
In short , all eligible Households in the borough will receive a £50 Premium from the council by 1 December , in time to spend it in the build-up to Christmas.

Payments will be made to everyone who is eligible , so their is no need to contact the council. However, payment is easier and quicker for those who pay their council tax by monthly direct debit.

** So Basically {If I'm Correct} all eligible households will receive it regardless if they pay by Direct Debit or not. You just receive the payment fastly and more effectively

***Full Details will be released in Novembers Edition of Around Ealing!

    and for you Martin an interesting article on this page {page 26}of the Magazine giving a brief reason why this £50 "cashback" could be done. {End of the article for the info}

Hi Jane - thanks so much for generous wishes to others and yes, you're right. One of the reasons I wanted to post was incase others could see and take up with their Councils ......

Many thanks CLLC for update & interest and yes, you are correct - paying by DD means it will will be easier for the £50.00 payments to be made (although others will also get it) - not quite sure how/why it is easier though. May be just because already have bank details? - hope is not back handed way of 'touting' to get those who don't wish to, to set up D.D.!!! Am keeping eyes peeled for Nov. issue.

Anyway - (pardon my ignorance) but how did you post pages of the mag? - thought was brilliant :T:T:T !!!!!!!

Can't find M's contribution - would you mind letting me know how to access it ..... is of particular interest to me as pmed him to see if he may be able to comment on issue & would be great if he was able to.

Thanks once again for posts/interests/research & for posting pages of mag (how did you it? - P!)

    Hey Pip :D

I beleive they are trying to encourage people to pay by DD simply because it's easier , but According to the quote {2nd one} People will still receive it regardless if they set up a DD {If i read it properly} :)

The big "M's" Contribution was actually in a newsletter a few months back , I've tried to trawl through the previous newsletters but Couldn't dig it up :( {It's out their somewhere!}. But I look forward to Martins Input on this too , I already PM'd him yesterday ;)

Oh and I managed to post the pages by looking through the Magazine , Scrolling to the Specific page and pasting the URL. I noticed the URL changes when I flick the page so I took advantage of it and Managed to post the pages here Individually! Come in very useful! I'm gonna try that reading different online PDF's too ,

Also , If your interested. You can go here >> Clicky << and see the latest issue of around Ealing Magazine. Obviously when the November one is published then you can actually see it from that link. *** YOU HAVE TO CLICK THE MAGAZINE IMAGE ON THE RIGHT

    Hidden Link I know
