Only joking, well done!

Food – potentially, this was a big one. Each day we breakfasted on freshly made bread (courtesy of the secondhand breadmaker I bought on ebay last year for £20)
+1!
My breadmaker has saved me a fortune over the years! I would seriously suggest every MFW buys one! I will never forget pulling out a perfect loaf the first time I used it. And the taste…
Also a lot healthier that supermarket bread because there's much less salt and sugar in bread from a maker.
And setting it on a timer and coming back from work (especially on a miserable winter's day) to a house smelling of freshly baked bread can't be beat!MFW Challenge: Mortgage free in 2008! ACHIEVED!0 -

I got given a breadmaker, but I've only used it once as it took me so long to measure out all the ingrediants. How long does it take you? It is a Morphy Richards one.0 -

Less than a minute. It was a bit fiddly at first but you soon get used to it. Store all the stuff together with your measuring spoon, and scales, that's the secret!MFW Challenge: Mortgage free in 2008! ACHIEVED!0 -
George - congratulations on achieving MF status! I love to hear from people who've reached their goal - it's really inspiring. And no, nothing beats the scent of home made bread wafting round the house, does it???
Sam - My breadmaker is a Morphy Richards one too, and it's a faithful servant, turning out lovely loaves day after day. I found the measures on the cup very difficult to make out (they're simply in raised plastic letters), especially with the flour and water, so I marked the 1/8th and 1 cup levels on the outside of the cup with an indelible marker. Cut the measuring times by about two thirds. Also, I use sunflower oil instead of butter - much cheaper and better for anyone with a diary intolerance. Makes no difference to the taste of the loaf!
ChirpChirp - Thanks. You've a big mortgage I see, but you're going in the right direction and at least you've the benefit of 1.49% interest in your favour for now!! I'm locked in @ 4.59% until March 2011!
