In that you are on a 647L tax code with the old job, you will most likely get a P45, if you don't I would either ask for one or a statement of earnings.
You are being taxed at BR because in effect the new job is a 2nd job if only until your old job finishes.
When you have had your last pay with your old job, if you don't get a P45, as previous post mentions fill out a P46 - link from my website below

Once you state that your new job is your only main job, the E code that one of the previous posts mentions is an emergency tax code which is still 647L but Week 1 / Month 1 which means that it only looks at your earnings on a month by month basis and will not give a refund.
However once the HMRC receive this form, they should send out a coding notice which would put you on a cumulative code to your new employer - any refund which is due to be paid would be paid then.
