Drop a dress size by 20th Aug...

I really want to drop a dress size (maybe a touch more) by 20th Aug. I have a wedding on Sat 22nd and in typical fashion bought a dress on sale that is a little bit too tight!! But I saved £140 on my dress
) - so, now I have the dilema of getting into it by 20th, which leaves me just enough time for an emergency shopping dash if I fail in my mission!! Are there any great tips out there to help my mission or would anyone like to join me?

You seem to be doing really well already!! :j0 -
Keep the dress hanging on the outside of your wardrobe, where you can see it all the time as an incentive to stick to your diet.
Personally keeping the carbs low helps me lose weight more quickly and reduces bloating. If it's the same for you, maybe sticking to the SW Original Plan instead of EE or Green may help you wriggle into that dress by the 20th!
As a back-up plan, maybe check out some of the body-shaping undies, magic knickers etc in advance, just in case you're nearly....but not-quite there!!
Sounds like you've made a good start anyway....sure you can do it!
Good luck!0 -
I'll join you, I've been feeling down and fat for a while, but having the flu last week shook all the energy out of me I haven't been to the gym in a couple of weeks either, so it's early mornings for me, and a run. Starting tomorrow, if I feel up to it. I'm so exhausted still.0

Callanetics is supposed to lose you a dress size in ten hours (ten sessions). I'm def thinking of giving this a go as it's not always the weight that's the problem but the bits sticking out where they shouldn't be lol.
I'm just getting it free from Youtube and hooking the laptop up to the tv to follow it. Cheaper than a DVD although you do have to keep stopping to change to the next short video.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

Do you hve a link to the first in the series on youtube?0 -
Can you find a nearby "Powerplate"?
Some gyms have them and you can go on a pay per session basis wihout joining the gym; or, a tanning salon in a small town close to me have recently put four in!
Ten minutes of serious vibrating (!) and you will feel a million times better; recommended is three time per week but you can go every day.
Ten minute sessions vs one hour Callanetics, I know which I prefer, although I do do both (bought a Callanetices DVD from ebay for £6); you will get results with either but Callanetics is very hard at first and you ache so much after the first time that you simply cannot do it the next day.........
The Powerplate sessions near me cost £4.00 per 10 minutes on PAYG or £30 for 12 which is great saving.0 -

This is the first one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA_6wUpaejw
But I don't think they particularly come in any order. I just work through them in any old order :-)
PS: I'll probaby get roasted for this, but if you have uTorrent or anything like that, you can get the full thing here http://www.mininova.org/tor/1986483I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

Well one thing that will help - is cut down on the salt, and cut out caffiene and fizzy drinks. this way you won't retain any excess water that could be the difference between the dress fitting perfectly and it being just a tiny bit too tight.
Not something I enjoy - I need my caffiene, but for a special occassion like a wedding that's coming up soon I could see it being worth it. You'd still need to do other things but this is simple and should aid your plan. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Thanks guys, will deffo follow these tips......but the caffine will be tough, cant function without a cuppa in the morning!!! Green Tea it is for the next 3 weeks!!
I rekon dropping a dress size will be about 10-15lbs so I am doing quite well to start with - just need to keep going.Slimming World start: 27/07/09 - 15st 1lb - - 03/08/09 - 14st 12lb0 -
Green Tea also has caffeine in it, unless you specifically buy the decaffinated variety.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0
