    As a general rule bank "advice" is expensive and extremely limited... I would think that going to a stakeholder pension provider online would generally be better than going to a bank for any financial advice.

    No, do NOT go to the bank!! They will sell you one of theirs, which may not be the best.

    Do a little reading about stakeholders. There are lots to choose from. I plumped for Friends Provident originally, but there are many. There should be a 'best buy' table of them, I'd be surprised if there isn't.
