I wanna 37"+ LCD TV

Hi All,

We've got a box of cash (thanks to stopping smoking) & as part of the new living room project need a new TV. We haven't got a scooby about them & as we don't particularly watch a lot of it we don't want to spend a fortune. This is the wish list:

37" minimum 42" maximum
Wall mountable
Want to be ale to plug the lap-top into it
Black casing

Anyone know of any deals on anywhere at the mo?

Well done with the stopping smoking. That's a massive achievement. I would say with tv's that you kind of get what you pay for, and whilst there are some decent cheap tellies, a quality brand will get a better picture. We have a 42 in Panasonic plasma which was £550 at Christmas and is great, especially in HD. Sony, Samsung, perhaps LG too, all seem well regarded brands too.

I would look at Richer Sounds for a good deal, also John Lewis will often price match and you get a free 5 year warranty. Amazon have some good deals on Toshiba tv's at the moment. I look for reviews on the AV forums and What tv and Video mag web site. I haven't seen any good deals posted on
MSE recently, but a search on Hot Deals UK might find a good one.

Try Dixons online and use the discount vouchers for free delivery or £50 off. We did this just before Christmas and got a Samsung 42" for £500 - even the deliverymen were shocked at the price and one of them was going to get one himself.

Thanks very much everyone :-) I sent hubby out at the weekend to get one as I reached the stage where if I looked at one more TV I'd scream.... true to form he came back with a 42 inch plasma lol. It's a Samsung & managed to haggle them down £100 plus get a free wall mount thrown in. Checked around & we've certainly got a bargain (like for like). Will have to send him shopping more often :-)
