  • Nothing in today's Sun  but looking forward to 6 FREE pizzas at Pizza Hut shortly

Whilst in Tescos buying my copies of the Mail, Sun, local paper and assorted mags to get vouchers (total spend £19 - cash handed over £2.92) I noticed that:

Cadbury Creme Eggs and Mars Eggs are now reduced to 18p each, they had lots of boxes there. I got some to put in party bags.

Can i ask what do you do with the vouchers?
Do you buy the mags the money is off or do tescos accept them off shopping?

Hiya Flufff - I shall give you an example of my shop today:

    I bought:

    Daily Mails x 6, Prima x 1, New mag forget name of Sneak ? x 1, Reveal x 1
2 nursery rhyme cds 99p x 2, The Sun, A local paper, 12 cadbury creme eggs, 1 bar of choccie, 1 furniture polish, 2 fruit cakes on BOGOF. 3 x FREE Mccain chips

Total came to £19.90 minus bogof = £18.91 used various assorted vouchers, total to pay in cash was £2.92 clubcard points earned 18

Total vouchers I had today from my purchases: £18.35 !!! and I will use them against future shopping, without buying the magazines/products etc Hope that helps :rotfl:

The extra copies of the papers are distributed to my OH's mates in work who are quite glad for free newspapers (minus vouchers of course) :rotfl:

Wow Welsh dragon, I am impressed!
Do you scan these tokens in yourself at the self scan checkout? My local tesco (metro) says it will not accept coupons/ vouchers unless it is for the product specified, does your bargain work because your local tesco has a different policy?

Thanks boufje - my store does not have a self scan checkout so the lovely lady scanned them thru at the till. I tend to go to the people I know that will take vouchers although, a few weeks ago the cashier refused and called the supervisor over who apologised and told him to scan them through. Tesco policy is rather inconsistent though and varies from store to store. I see my money off as bonus BUT not an automatic right.

Thanks for explaining that. Yes, I do find tescos policy very inconsistent, I am in central London and they are very strict about vouchers, and won't allow anything at all, I really see the difference when I go out to Warwickshire to se family and shop at a superstore - I think the metros have a bit of a captive market and less competition, which explains the varying policies..
