We were fairly settled on Majorca now heard their were more bombing today. Getting really frustrated trying to find something. Want to fly out round 14th sept for 9-10 nights. Considering flying from Dublin though would prefer to fly from Belfast but very little flying.0

Other than Villamora and Albuferia what other resorts have plenty to do in Algarve. We r couple in early 30's, don't want somewhere completely dead thanks0

I booked a holiday to the Algarve in Portugal through a travel agent once....the resort they sent us to was for people of retirement age (I was 24!!)...it was the middle of September and the end of the season there so most of the bars etc were closed. The rep moved us after a few days and said that as a rule of thumb don't go anywere east of the airport if you're young-ish!! I'm not sure how accurate that is. We ended up in Alvor and loved it..have been a few times now although we get a car and go do things as I'm one of those people who looks like a lobster after 5 mins in the sun.
I hope you have a lovely holiday - I'm very jealous!!!!"I believe that everything happens for a reason. Thanks that weird was just looking at places that direction. Praia da Roche and Alvor (also accomodation between the two). I do not really fancy hiring a car, do you think you could manage going to those resorts without one.0

It depends on what you like to do I guess. Not being a sun worshiper I like to go and do things during the day. Alvor is a lovely wee fishing village with some lively bars and yummy restaurants and if you want something more lively you could get a taxi into Praia de Roche and dance the night away!!
The last time I went, I booked the flights via Easyjet and found the accommodation and car on line....a very cheap holiday!"I believe that everything happens for a reason.
