jam/freezing question

Hello again,
I got given twelvety blackcurrants but can't make jam yet cos I don't have any jars.
Can I freeze them until I get the jars? And how? My recipe book says to open freeze "fruits like currants and so on" on trays, but in the next breath says that fruits which are cooked before eating "like gooseberries and blackcurrants", should be cooked before freezing. :? What to do?
Thanks x

Twelvety?? An unusual amount.
Just bung 'em in a bag and bung 'em in the freezer. No need to faff with trays or cooking. When you come to jam -just chuck the lot frozen into your pan and carry on with the recipe. I make jam from frozen fruit all the time.
I should weigh them before bagging up so that you have the correct amount for your jam recipe.0 -
