£9.99 a month gym membership!

Posted this before but realised it was in the marriage section!
In the business district of Manchester, a new gym is going to open in October - it's called Pure Gym. As you can imagine, in a brand new development in the city centre, surrounded by offices, I expected the monthly subscription to be around £60. I then found out it didn't have a pool so thought it may drop to around £40 as it still had a captive market.
It turns out that it's £9.99 a month for the first year if you join soon, think it then rises to £15.99. This offer was originally until 31 July but still seems to be on their website - not sure how long for though! Their website has all the details but basically it's £10 joining fee then it's £9.99 a month with no contract so can get out whenever, plus I think there's a 14 day money back guarantee from when the gym opens. When it does open, fully airconditioned, open 24/7 too for those insomniacs or late night workers!
In these times when we need to be watching our spend, this is a welcome relief. The Manchester one is first to open I think, in October but by the look of the website, there's one due to open in Wolverhampton soon too and then elsewhere in the country.
At that price I'll keep my current gym membership open for the first month I think but it seems really really good deal!
The saving can be reinvested into some Personal Training sessions I think... actually make going to the gym have some effect!

Sounds like a good deal, if you've got one nearby. Equipment doesn't look bad, either http://www.puregym.co.uk
Local/non-chain gyms can be close to that price, sometimes, but a tenner a month definitely seems good.0 -
There's one in Liverpool aswell that had the same offer. Its the same gym and also open 24/7. not sure if its still on tho0

Agreed newmove - worth a go - maximum you lose is..... nothing! (14 day money back guarantee!). The council ones round here (Manchester) are about £25 a month I think and with older equipment, less opening hours.
Take it you don't think small businesses should exist then chuckley and try and grow!?0 -
Looks exactly the same as these places - http://www.thegymgroup.com/
They've also got one opening in Manchester soon and the deal is identical. I've already signed up to the Liverpool one which opens soon.0 -
they look great value for money - shame there is not one closer to me got fed up of paying £50+ for the gym!£27.76/£2018 in 20180
