40th birthday present for the woman who has everything? Please help!

Hi all,

First time on the SOC boards so please be gentle! I have taken a look at the birthday index thread but nothing struck me as yet..

My friend is 40 in October (see I'm trying to plan ahead!) and my budget is around £20 - £30.

She is notoriously hard to buy for, but that doesn't mean I'd rather not put the effort in and get her something lovely.

She loves being pampered but is a bit snobby about it - only certain places etc so vouchers for a local place are a no go.

I honestly can't think of anything right now at all, so wondered if anyone has any ideas? Maybe something generalist that I can personalise?

Not a big fan of the bottle of wine/ champagne thing and I'd really like to get something "for her" as she has a gorgeous little daughter but everything is all about her daughter all the time and not about my friend - you Mums out there must know what I mean I hope?!

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks,
pippitypip

How about a compact mirror for her handbag?
Chanel do a gorgeous one, within your price range, it comes in a black velvet pouch and is ever so classy.
Perfect for the woman that has everything.

  • how about an expensive item of make up? maybe a lipstick or something along those lines.
youll have to do a little snooping in her makeup bag to get her favourite shade tho - mite be fun lol!
then maybe you could make and decorate a little box to put it in. or even buy a cheap plain washbag to decorate and present the lipstick in that? hths

Sorry, hope I'm not being rude, but that site looks dodgy to me - is it your site? Info missing all over the place, I wouldn't feel safe to purchase from there besides a little over my price range.

    Hiya

I was going to suggest a cake topper - which she can keep - but sadly the lady who makes them is booked up until next year - Here is the website if you fancy a nosey anyway

    ............

I am having a similar problem as we have a gift to buy for a 40th bday and its soo hard to think of something.

Here are a few of my ideas

A voucher for a photobook - we did one of these with our honeymoon pics and it looks great.

I have to say i used a different company called lovebag but they are much more expensive than these.

Theatre / comedy / concert Tickets?

A Jo Malone candle - This would be a very lovely treat for the woman who has everything

An Opal necklace ( October birthstone)
