FTB - Mortgage with Britannia

Hi All
Has anyone had any problems with Britannia?
My partner and I applied for a joint mortgage over a month ago, we have paid all our fees upfront and everything was fine, our valuation was done on 23rd of june by someone called Connells, hired by Britannia.
Since then we have submitted all infor required and are ready to exchange contracts, all we are waiting for is the mortgage offer! I called Britannia for the last 4 days in a row and they are still waiting for some information back from the valuer!
How long can this possibly take?! Apparently the fax has been sent and lost on the fax machine TWICE and they have chased this morning but still nothing, so are chasing the valuer again this afternoon.
Getting annoyed now it shouldn't take this long should it!!
