Monsoon Wedding dresses

Hello Everyone,

After lots of lurking this is my first post so please be gentle! I got engaged on my birthday in May.

Im getting married In June next Year (Hopefully), still a bit of haggling going on with the venue at the moment!

I have seen a lovely dress on the Monsoon website, I would love to try it on but when I went to my Local Monsoon they didnt have any wedding dresses? It is quite a small store do the bigger Monsoon's stock wedding dresses has anyone seen them in a local stores?

I didnt really want to order it online as It might not even suit me ( plus I would like to drop a dress size by next June) I just wanted to try it on really.

Any advise greatly appreciated

Sally

I'm not sure where you're based but I noticed they had some at Newcastle Metrocentre when we were up there a couple of months ago, so maybe it's just the big stores?

Do they have a customer call number? You could ring & ask which stores stock them? (also sign up for their e-mail newsletter as they have some good reductions in their sales)

I just had a look & if you go on the website & clic on store locater - top right hand corner (it took me a couple of mins to find it!) then you can search by collection i.e. Bridal & it brings up a list of their shops that stock that collection.
    Good Luck

Monsoon effectively told me if I wanted to try it, I'd have to order it online and take it back if I didn't like it.

Although this is a pain, delivery is free over £100 (which those dresses are!) and you can return it to the store. Make sure you look at their size guide first though and try it on somewhere it won't get marked.

The lady in the shop told me the dresses tend to be very long and I generally find their sizes slightly larger than other shops.

They say the larger stores have some but might not have the full range and won't have a full range of sizes so if youre planning a special trip perhaps phone them first. Also you may have to wait until the sale finishes.

They have some in the sale in Bristol Cabot Circus - so I guess they probably stock wedding dresses most of the time? Bristol is only about an hour away from Basingstoke so it may be worth looking there.

They did have a rack of wedding dresses in there at the weekend, so it may be worth a journey to try and grab a bargain now.

(Not a wedding dress, but I managed to get the dress that I wanted for my friends wedding reduced from £100 to £28.50...yay)

  • Hi,

I got my wedding dress from Monsoon about a month ago for £100 in the sale.
I got it from the shop in Glasgow and I'm sure if you ask the staff at your shop they will order one in for you.

    Good Luck

I had the same issue. I spoke to customer services and they said who would have the dress in stock (but not the sizes). I tried it on in Westfield shopping centre (W Londn) as the Monsoon is HUGE there I am sure it's the best place to go. I ordered online in the end and got a size 8 which after my fitness regime may be rather big on me. I am usually a 10, or even 12 on the bottom. So yes they come up big.

    Hope this helps.

Hello, as you are in Basingstoke, it wouldn't be too much of a travel to go to Southampton West Quay shopping centre. They have wedding dresses there in the upstairs bit. Not sure if the whole collection but there were quite a few different ones when I had a look.
  • Thanks Everyone, Think I will try West Quay for a start tomorrow, then maybe Westfield in the next few weeks to get more ideas on sizes.

The Monsoon shop in Manchester apparently has a dedicated bridal section set out like a 'proper' wedding shop.
