Mortgage on CCCS

I currently have a DMP with CCCS, and I have been given a price from the Council to buy my home for £34'000 which I would really like to do. My question though is would I be able to get a mortgage while on a DMP?

Hi,
My hubby and me have been on a DMP for about 4 years, we have had a mortgage for 9 years, but I wanted to switch when the fixed rate ended a couple of years ago. CCCS recomended that I talk to Charcol, and they got us a really good deal even though we had the DMP, so yes, I think it can be done, and you are looking to borrow a lot less than we did.
Best of luck0 -
Thanks for that, I tried John Charcol and was told they wouldn't be able to help me because of the DMP.
Does anyone know of anyone else I could try?0 -
Possibly, but need to be underwritten to determine whether a mortgage would constitute responsible lending in regard to the FSA's rules.
Try a local experienced broker. Becabboo - you are talking pre - credit crunch, the world of finance couldn't be more different now.0 -
Thanks I know I could afford the mortgage as it would be the same as my rent, i just not to get someone to give me it. Thats the hard part.0
